The Contract and Grant Query Builder is a user-friendly computer program that is used in conjunction with Microsoft Excel to retrieve data from an SQL Server in the Dean's Office and to format that data in a useful manner. By specifying criteria in a series of screens presented to you, this tool enables you to retrieve Contract and Grant information on both Awards and Proposals. Once you retrieve the information, you will be able to manipulate the data in a variety of ways by taking advantage of functions built into Excel. Once the file is downloaded, run the program. The zip file is now a Windows self extracting zip file and will prompt you for a password to unzip the file.
Please Read! Once you extract the files you can move them to wherever you want. However, please make sure that all the extracted files are kept in the same directory. The Contracts and Grants addin accesses all the files that are included in the zip file. For network administrators, you can move the files to a network directory and have everybody point to one copy of the addin.
For Network Administrators! If you are a network administrator and have multiple versions of Excel, please place each version of the addin in separate directories. This is important because a lot of the files that are included with one version of the addin are the same name as the files included with another version of our addin. If you do not place each version in their own directory, you will be overwriting a file needed for a specific version of our addin.
