User Requiremement:

Application Setup Procedures

1. Map any drive letter (we will use x:\ as an example below) to \\somdeansntfps\medent (please check “Reconnect at logon”)
2. Download the appropriate setup file, depending on the version of Access installed on the computer. This is a self extracting zip file.

3. Running the file will extract the setup files to C:\HousestaffSetup, C:\Housestaff2KSetup or C:\Housestaff2K3Setup. Contact Mike Shane (x62889) for the unzip password
4. After the files are extracted, run setup.exe and accept all defaults EXCEPT when selecting Installation Type. You must select Compact Installation
5. After setup is complete, you can delete the C:\HousestaffSetup, C:\Housestaff2KSetup or C:\Housestaff2KS3etup directory
6. The setup will create a Housestaff Application folder on Programs menu.

Changing the users SOMDEANS account password

- Click on the following link: https://www.mednet.ucla.edu/changepassword/
- In the 'domain' field, type somdeans
- Enter your username and password info in the remaining fields and click ok

Troubleshooting

WINS - If you get an error stating that the network cannot be found check that you have 10.1.20.154 set as one of your WINS server
